Josh Owens is an entrepreneur, educator, & community activist.

Josh is the co-founder and CEO of Boost, a notification app that helps thousands of students pass more classes. Josh has been named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40," received the Excellence in Teaching award from the Butler University Lacy School of Business, & led SupplyKick as its CEO from $3M to over $40M in sales and won multiple Inc. 500, tech, and culture awards.

Josh was Indiana's first openly-LGBTQ+ candidate for statewide office.

Josh lives in Indianapolis with his husband, Andres Acosta, and is available for speaking engagements and executive strategy & consulting.

As CEO of Indianapolis-based SupplyKick, one of the nation’s fastest growing online retailers, Josh put Hoosiers first with a minimum $50,000 salary for all team members as the company grew rapidly. 

As a faculty member at the Butler University Lacy School of Business, Josh taught over 2,000 students in economics and statistics while leading the successful development of multiple online and hybrid courses.

As a democratic candidate for Indiana Governor, Josh developed the leading plan to increase pay for Hoosier teachers and fought for universal background checks, criminal justice reform, cannabis legalization, and climate justice.

Josh has served on the boards of Vote Safe Indiana, Orr Fellowship, Indy Chamber, TechPoint, and the Indiana Charter School Board. He has economic degrees from the London School of Economics and Wabash College.

Josh and his husband have lived in London, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Minneapolis, and currently reside in Indianapolis and San Diego.
